U2

I saw U2 tonight and it's always a pretty intense experience. You go not only for the music, but the spectacle and the social message. Tonight, though.... During one of their songs, they were showing video footage of Charlottesville and the nazi shitbags who were marching around with torches and throwing the seig heils and it made me sick to my stomach. This is the new normal. Any other president would have condemned that in no uncertain terms but that fat bloated orange POS in the Oval Office now just couldn't. NOBODY with even a single fiber of decency isn't sickened by what happened there, including the fact that a black man who got beaten by 5 nazis was himself arrested. This country is gone. The world now hates and fears us and they are figuring out how to work around this country, which isn't that hard. America doesn't really produce anything any more. We are a feedback cycle, regurgitating our own puke, and whatever we do create can, for the most part, be replicated other places. Hollywood? Meh. Many movies are now shot in Canada. Knowledge? Much is created by non-Americans here on visas and with Trump driving away people from everywhere except Norway, Russia, and England, that ain't gonna cut it. Government-funded research? Dead. All that will be left is a nation of 350 million people, many of whom are stupid and heavily armed that will consume itself in an orgy of stupidity and bloodshed.
